HERBALIST AND HERBS
This outline was written about 10 years ago. It has been revised and updated, but is really an abridged and generalized idea. Breast and prostate cancer comprise 2 of the 4 leading  cancers( colon and lung being the other 2) that take about  90 thousand lives in the U.S yearly ( over all cancer takes about 650,000 lives a year, and the 4 leading deadly cancers continue to rise at the annual rate of 1 percent). I am hoping that this will reach younger as well as older women. To generalize again, treatment dosages and frequency of dose are much higher than in prevention. In female cancers, an unrecognized risk factor is chronic problems with menstrual cycles. Balancing cycles in younger women is a major step in prevention. Many of these same ideas can be applied to prostate cancer as well.
HERBS:
1. Red clover, oat straw, nettle leaf, alfalfa. Used for high mineral and phyto-hormone content. These herbs are good in tea form.
2. Siberian Ginseng, American Ginseng, Macca.  Adaptogenic  herbs that help balance central hormonal axis (H.P.A.T.) Hypothalamus, Pituitary, Adrenal, Thyroidal axis. Good as tinctures or high ratio extracts. Has lots to do with stress response, immune function and general hormone balance
3. Red clover, Salvia,Yarrow. Herbs that tone the lymph system. To remove waste and improve immune function
SUPPLEMENTS:
1.Chrysin .  An extract of passion flower that inhibits the over production of estrogens in fat cells. Can be a big problem in overweight and post menopausal women. High estrogen is also a problem in men now.
Approximately 1% of breast cancer deaths are men ( that equals about  500 deaths a year with about 5000 new men per year getting diagnosed) and hyperestrogen is a major player in prostate cancer.
2.D.I.M.   Diindolymethane. Is the converted and absorbable form of Indole 3 carbinol, which is derived from  crossiferous vegatables. Also very good to eat that family of vegatables. Helps liver to get rid of unwanted estrogens.
3.Calcium D glucarate:  Prevents recirculation of estrogens from the bowel.
4. B vitamins:  Helps liver detoxificaton and many other things
SHAKE OR SMOOTHIE:
Generally  speaking , women do not eat enough protein. Consensus is that around 24% of a women’s diet needs to be protein ( for men it is around 28%) National average is 18% in females.
1. Whey Powder.  Hard to find good quality .  Strengthens immune system,  95% biological value, free amino acids, balances blood sugars, encourages tissue repair and rebuilding, assists liver detoxification.
2. Fermented Soy Powder.  The only kind of acceptable soy products are fermented. Great protein , good source of calcium, isoflavones and antioxidants.
3. Green foods.  Grasses , algae and vegetable concentrates. Cleansing  and supporting.
4. Fresh Ground Flax Seed ( no pre ground flax or flax oil ) Grind flax seed to order. Contains fiber, lignans, and is 25% ALA ( an omega 3 ). Modulates hormones and protects breast and prostate tissue.
GENERAL SUPPLEMENTS:
1.Food based or food grown multi vitamin and mineral.
2.Vit C with bioflavinoids
3.Gamma E complex
4.Antioxidants: CoQ10, Alpha Lipoic Acid, O.P.C.
Good Luck
This is a very general outline, but begins to give people a place to go.
